Experience
Chun Bin is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, with 20 years of experience in the corporate finance and legal sectors. He specialises in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Chun Bin has advised on many Singapore and international initial public offerings of corporations and real estate investment trusts, including secondary equity and debt fund raising by such entities. His expertise spans many diverse industries, including brick and mortar businesses as such real estate developers to tech companies. Chun Bin has also advised on many cross-border transactions and has a broad network of clients spanning countries such as China, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Career
Chun Bin commenced legal practice in 2000. He started his career as a corporate lawyer at a major law firm well known in Singapore for its expertise in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, and moved on to be one of the early pioneering lawyers at a leading Singaporean law firm. In May 2012, he left legal practice to head up various corporates, including public listed companies, as chief executive. Prior to founding Icon Law, Chun Bin was the Head of Capital Markets at Insights Law.
Chun Bin has been recognised as a leading lawyer by legal publications such as Chambers and Partners, AsiaLaw and the IFLR (International Financial Law Review;most recently, as a Notable Practitioner for M&A), and also sits on the boards of listed companies. He was a former scholar with a global multinational corporation headquartered in Singapore. Chun Bin was also a contributor for “Mergers andAcquisitions in China”, a book published by Thomson/Sweet & Maxwell Asia. He has on occasion presented on topics related to his expertise in various seminars including teaching seminars conducted by the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Chun Bin also sits on the Boards of the following Singapore-listed groups: (i) Yongmao Holdings Limited (a leading designer and manufacturer of cranes), where he is an Independent Director (and Chairman of its Remuneration Committee and member of its Audit and Nominating Committees); (ii) Lorenzo International Limited (behind the eponymous furniture manufacturer), where he is an Independent Director (and Chairman of its Nominating Committee and member of its Audit and Remuneration Committees); and (iii) Triyard Holdings Ltd (an engineering and fabrication solutions provider focused on the offshore oil and gas industry), where he is an Independent Director.

Notable Experience
- Initial public offerings and listings of real estate investment trusts, including: (i) Mapletree Commercial Trust; (ii) Lippo-Mapletree Retail Trust; (iii) Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust; (iv) First Real Estate Investment Trust; and (v) Frasers Centrepoint Trust, all on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange.
- Initial public offerings and listings of companies, including: (i) Geo Energy Resources Limited (Singapore Exchange, Main Board); (ii) TA Corporation Ltd. (Singapore Exchange, Main Board); (iii) Hiap Tong Corporation Ltd. (Singapore Exchange, Catalist); (iv) China New Town Development Company Limited (Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, Main Board); (v) Wee Hur Holdings Ltd (Singapore Exchange, Main Board); (vi) Pan Hong Holdings Group Ltd (Singapore Exchange, Main Board); and (vii) United Test and Assembly Center Ltd (Singapore Exchange, Main Board), which was then one of the world’s biggest independent provider of semiconductor test services, and its Regulation S offering was one of the largest listings in Singapore that year, raising a total of S$210 million.
- Reverse takeovers of, amongst others: (i) SBI Offshore Limited (Singapore Exchange, Catalist) by the Berlitz Group; (ii) C&G Environmental Protection Holdings Limited (Singapore Exchange, Main Board) by Param Mitra Coal Resources; and (iii) Showy International Limited (Singapore Exchange, Catalist) by Ying Li International.
- Takeovers and/or delistings/exits of, amongst others: (i) Axington Inc. (Singapore Exchange, Catalist); (ii) Reyoung Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (Singapore Exchange, Main Board); and (iii) Passion Holdings Limited (Singapore Exchange, Main Board).
- Investments of, amongst others: (i) China Everbright Limited into Ying Li International Real Estate Limited and (ii) Temasek Holdings into Olam International Limited.
