BlackRock Invests into Ditrolic Energy
Icon Law is proud to have advised Ditrolic Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd, one of the largest renewable energy developers in South East Asia, on BlackRock's widely-reported investment into its group.
The investment will support Ditrolic Energy's plans to reach its targeted 1GW+ pipeline of solar projects through the expansion of its portfolio of assets across Asia, and is expected to result in the elimination of an estimated 2.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions, while improving access to electricity for approximately 52,000 consumers and providing around 3,500 jobs.
The investment was made through the Climate Finance Partnership, which is BlackRock's flagship public-private finance vehicle seeking to accelerate the flow of capital into climate-related investments in emerging markets, formed by a global consortium of investors including institutional investors, the governments of France (AfD), Germany (KFW) and Japan (JBIC) and leading impact US organisations.
Director, Jeremiah Huang and Counsel, Tan Wy Lu, led the cross-border team, together with Partner (Corporate) Lily Lee and Partner (Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities) Khoo Yu Lin from leading Malaysian firm, Zaid Ibrahim & Co (in Association with KPMG Law).
